Individual swivel eye bolts can be used to lift loads. But for larger objects multiple bolts will probably be the best option. The swivel bolts are screwed securely onto the load. Leaving the swivel head free to rotate on bearings around the collar without the risk of unscrewing. During use, as the load is lifted the bolts will swivel into the pulling direction smoothly. Pay attention to the threaded shank length and width in the specifications as they differ across the sizes. As do the safe working loads, which also vary according to the lifting set up. M8 up to M64 are available For example a small load may only require 1 central eye bolt for a straight lift. Medium and larger loads however may need 2, 3 or 4 hoist rings which will mean using a multi leg sling. Because the legs of the sling connect centrally to a master link for hoist attachment and the swivel hoist rings will be spaced around the loads centre of gravity then angles will occur. Angles up to 90 degrees from vertical are allowed but only in some circumstances, often with a single leg or double leg sling. 3 and 4 leg applications typically generate angles of 45 or 60 degrees. Whatever combination you use it is imperative to consult the loading charts where you will find the correct safe working load reductions for your set up.
