Do you work installing solar panels? If the answer is yes then you will know all about the logistics in getting the panels safely to where they need to be.
Its not always easy, due to the fact that most solar panel are installed on roof tops. To get them up there safely with out damaging them can be tricky. Not to mention the risk of personal injury which could easily occur during the task.
By using a specialist solar panel lifting bag all these risks are minimised whilst speeding up the process.
Solar Panel Lifting Bags Explained
There are a few different versions of these lifting bags available, some seemingly having more features than others. However more is not always necessary but could be pricier. So compare a few variations prior to purchasing to ensure you are getting the right piece of kit for your needs at the right price.
Here at Lifting Equipment Ltd we have many years of knowledge when it comes to lifting loads of all types. We have sourced what we believe to be a simple but practical solution at a cost effective price.
It is worth noting that this type of lifting bag can also be used for other panel type loads, not just solar panels. For example plywood or plaster board sheets, window frames or even radiators. Just imagine being able to lift these items with little physical effort up to the 1st, 2nd or 3rd storeys of a building, higher is possible!
Your items will be lifted to where required safely and intact in a very short space of time. Off loading is easy too, thanks to the design of these solar bags.
How are Solar Panel Bags Used?
The design of a solar panel bag is pretty simple. The main body of the bag is made from a single piece of very strong material. The inside is lined with a soft foam material. This offer protection to the delicate loads they will usually be carrying.
The single piece of material folds in half so there are no seams along the bottom edge to cause potential weak spots. Both ends as well as the top edge are secured with heavy duty velcro to keep loads secure during transit. This design also enables the bag to be loaded and unloaded easily from either side or the top.
Lifting the Solar Panel bags
Incorporated into the design are handles and a sling. There are four handles in total, two on either side at the top edge. Their function is to help with handling and stability. The main, central sling passes right under the bottom of the bag at two key points. This ensures good stability of the load whilst giving the bag added strength and structure. The sling terminates with a stainless steel lifting eye on each side. These are drawn together to attach to the load hook of a lifting hoist.
As you can imagine these large, flat loads can be susceptible to swinging during the lifting operation, however this can easily be controlled by the use of a tag line or guy rope. There are two 'D' ring anchor points located on the side of the bags, these can be used to attach these guide ropes so that the load movement can be controlled from the ground as it is raised.
This approach is highly recommended for the safety of your panels, especially in windy conditions.
These solar bags work well on a construction site when used with a scaffold hoist which can be fitted to a scaffold tower.Take a look at the products we can offer to find out more details and specifications and buy online.
