Scaffold Hoists for Builders

Do you use scaffolding? Do you have issues getting your equipment to the higher levels? If the answer is yes then scaffold winch / hoist or builders hoists as they are often called could be the solution.
Once set up the hoist will lift your materials up the outside of the scaffold tower. As a result taking them to whatever level you need them at with little manual effort required.

Lifting Equipment Ltd supplies a broad choice of hoists for attaching to scaffolding to many industries. In particular builders and roofers, or wherever scaffolding towers are used. These hoists provide a very safe, fast and cost efficient way to raise and lower all your tools and materials to any level of the scaffolding you require. We also supply accessories to use alongside your hoist to further improve your hoisting requirements, such as mortar buckets.

What is a scaffold hoist?

These hoists are exactly as its name suggests, look it is a hoisting device which attaches to a scaffold pole. The hoist is able to lift heavy and awkward loads quickly and safely.

Who uses Scaffold Hoists?

These hoists are frequently used by builders, roofers and construction workers, or anywhere that scaffolding systems are used.

Why are builders hoists used?

Builders hoists are used primarily to make it safer, faster and easier to get tools and materials up to higher levels. They are a cost effective piece of equipment for construction sites. Specially designed to fit to scaffolding, unlike standard electric hoists.

They have lifting speeds up to 23 metres per minute. Furthermore they have 25m of cable for a great height of lift. You can find out more details in the product pages below.

Safety Benefits

There are many benefits to using a builders hoist. First and foremost they provide safety on the building site. Consider the risks taken by the workers who carry materials whilst trying to climb up a scaffold tower, even with secured ladders. This can be a lengthy, physically demanding and hazardous task. Injuries can easily occur, even a simple back or shoulder strain or twisted knee can result in time off in these often physically demanding jobs. With one or more workers down the job goes slower resulting in being more costly; in other words time is money! Through the use of these hoists, these problems can be easily overcome. The task will be carried out much quicker, much less physically demanding and much less hazardous, how so, you may ask! Well firstly it will be less physically demanding as you will only need to attach the tools and materials to the hoist, not physically carry it up some ladders; secondly, because the scaffold hoist is electrically powered, the touch of a button is all it needs to transport your tools quickly to precisely where they are needed; and lastly the task will be less hazardous because there will be little exertion on the human skeleton, reducing the risk of injuries, also it will be much less likely that the tools/materials and/or the person carrying them will fall, injuring themselves or somebody else.

Scaffold Hoist Accessories

These hoists also have various attachments that can be even more advantageous; Tipping buckets for example, allow loose materials to be lifted and emptied easily, whilst wheel barrow chains enable the complete wheelbarrow full of materials to be lifted to wherever it is required; mortar buckets and rubbish chutes are also available.

Will a Scaffolding Hoist be a sensible purchase?

In short a scaffolding hoist will be a cost effective purchase. It will enhance site safety, allow tasks to be completed quicker, and could even reduce the manpower needed to complete the task within the timescale given. So if you frequently need to lift loads in this way then a hoist like this will be a great buy for you. Check out our hoist selection below to find out more, or call for sales and advice.
