What are Machine Skates

Machine skates are essentially a platform on wheels which slip under heavy loads so that they can be moved and re-positioned easily. They are typically used in multiples. There are many different formats of these load moving skates so to simplify your choice we have selected just two which should cover the majority of tasks.

Types of Machine Moving Skates Available

We are able to supply the Viper VRS 360 degree machine skates in a choice of 3 or 5 wheel options. The 3 wheel model can handle up to 2000kg and the 5 wheel up to 4000kg.

We also supply a 3 point load moving skate set the Viper VMMS. These heavy duty kits consist of a larger skate with turntable plus a steering handle and two smaller skates. These sets are ideal for larger loads. There are 4 capacities to choose from, 16, 24, 36 or 48 tonnes, so they have massive machine moving capabilities.

Getting the load up onto the skate platform may need a little physical strength, because the object needs to be tipped so the skates can be slipped underneath. Roller crowbars are great for assisting with this, because they can slip under most items and used to pry it up whilst protecting fingers and toes! Hydraulic floor jacks can also be used for this task.

Where are Load Moving Skates Used

Load moving skates can be used pretty much anywhere however they work best on smooth, even floors.

Commonly used for plant machinery installations in factories, warehouses, freight terminals and many more for shifting large objects. Moving heavy furniture around in the home can be done with these skates too.
