What is a Cable Pulling Machine?
A cable puller or cable pulling machine is a really useful piece of equipment for use in many areas whether industrial, commercial or domestic.
Sometimes called a cable pulling winch these devices consist of a robust housing which holds a set of powerful jaws. These jaws clamp onto the wire rope cable and pull it through the jaws as the lever is cranked.
Uses And Benefits of Cable Pulling Winch
They are most frequently used for pulling and tensioning applications but can lift too. They can be set up in different ways to suit the task at hand. This is thanks to being multi directional, it can be operated in any position at any angle. What's more the cable can be pulled through in either direction, forwards or backwards, in or out.
One big benefit to these cable pulling machines is that they can be used with unlimited lengths of cable. Another big plus is that if sheave blocks are also used the pulling direction can be deflected / altered at any point as well as increasing the overall pulling capacity. This is known as the sheave block technique.
Cable pullers can be used for many things and are a great tool for keeping in your work vehicle. They are commonly used by Arborists and tree surgeons for pulling out tree stumps etc. The vehicle recovery and other rescue sectors also find plenty of uses for a wire rope cable puller. Oil & mining, chemical, mining, quarries are other sectors which use these pulling machines as well as the construction industry.
